ビジネス情報を編集する행정구역상 광양시와 경남 하동군의 경계에 위치하며, 백사장 길이 500M, 너비는 50~200M이다. 1940년경 배알도에 주민들이 해변에서 해수욕을 즐기게 되면서 망덕리해수욕장이라 불리다, 점차 백사장이 줄어들면서 1970년 말에 폐장되었다. 그러나 시민들의 휴식공간 필요성이 대두되어 지난 90년에 배알도 해수욕장이라는 이름으로 재개장되었다.
